Last week I sent a few hats to Knots of Love (http://www.knotsoflove.org), which is an organization that donates caps to patients at cancer treatment centers across the United States. I finished these hats a while back, but it took me a while to finally get them sent. I couldn’t be happier that I finally sent them off. On Friday, I got a call from the founder of the organization, who was able to tell me where each cap went. It is a very powerful thing to know that I have the power to help, even in a small way, people who are fighting the biggest battles of their lives.
If you haven’t already, find a place to donate a few caps to each year. We all end up with leftover yarn that is perfect for these sorts of projects, and the patients appreciate these caps so much. If you have donated before, I’d love to hear which organizations you donate to.
